Ibiza 2015 – My Very Belated Review Of My 12th Visit

I’m writing this review of my 12th trip to Ibiza two weeks after getting back.  Is it really two weeks already? There were 12 of us going to the villa, all couples, except for me and JP.  Yes JP was sharing a room with me.  He must have been crazy to agree that.  And various others on the island that we met up with.  I knew about half of the gang prior to going. OK I’m now writing it four weeks after getting back.  I should forget about writing but it seems traditional to write about my trips abroad, particularly …

Ibiza 2012 – My 10th Visit

Before I went to Ibiza for the 10th time this year, I decided that it would be my last trip for a couple of years. However, upon arrival back upon the magical island that I like to call home, I immediately began to dream of ways that I could move to Ibiza to live there forever.  Or at least a whole summer. I flew with Monarch from Gatwick as usual, an even more rowdy and party-like flight than previous years, full of young people and far more young ladies than men on board, oh how terrible.  Given the e-mailed warnings …

I Feel Like…

A crushed flower with just one petal left. A 70-year old virgin in Bangkok who has just found out ‘she’ is a he. A war refugee who has been evacuated to Slough. A butterfly whose wings no longer work. A superstar DJ who has just gone deaf. A monkey robbed of his last banana. A prince, married to a princess who has just chopped her hair off. A vegetarian locked in a butcher’s freezer. A duck in the desert. A kebab van in a pigeon-free land. A Yorkshireman with no gravy. Yes, I have the Ibiza blues in severe form and …

James Winfield’s Guide To Ibiza 2012

I think it is safe to say that I have only been to one place in the world that I love more than Kingston-Upon-Hull, and that is Ibiza. It is also safe to say that as some point in the next couple of months, the lure will prove too great and I will be booking flights, most likely for September.  You are more than welcome to join me. Resident Advisor have done an excellent guide to Ibiza, I cannot really beat it, but I know you are craving my perspective on matters… They did try to be positive even on the …

James Winfield In Ibiza – Chapter 9 – 2011 (part 1???)

They still let me in!  Good job they check my passport thoroughly. Ibiza – my favourite place in the world.  So much beauty, so much fun to be had, so much ability to heal oneself…but also to destroy oneself. This might be quite a long blog post, so feel free just to look at the pictures and wonder why I am not a professional photographer, or you could just bookmark and read on Friday when everyone just pretends to do work. So the four of us (James, Matt, Sam and Paul) flew out to meet 4 others who were already …

Party In The Spar

Now this is why I go to Ibiza…remember to come back for part two.  You need to see both parts. Part One And this is what happens 20 minutes later: Part Two Whether I like the music taste of the shop owner or not – that is why Ibiza is so special.  And everyone needs to taste it.  And bring a bit back to their community.

Date For Your Diary – I Think Somebody Loves Me

Before I get to it, I must just get something off my chest.  I work for a huge global corporation, who now generally only employ graduates – it being such a large building, there are of course jobs there that do not require such qualifications and business experience, such as the cleaners, or catering staff, who are all very polite and respectful. On coming down to the breakfast bar this morning, there was a group of three…people (I cannot think of anything to class them as) causing chaos by the breakfast bar, as if they owned it, and wouldn’t let …
